Glen Park and Medina

With the changing leaves comes a season that also brings us more water. Allan came over to the good side of New York, the west side, and we went to some waterfalls, met some police officers, and some animals.

Gauley Fest 2009

We headed down to the hills of Appalachia and had a great time. There was carnage everywhere, what more can you ask for? Sorry this one took so long... WMG and Sony Music Entertainment need to pull their heads out of their rears and get with the times. It is 2009 not the 1900s.

Beaver Weekend 2009

The Beaver River marks the beginning of fall creeking for the north east and is one of the best times of the year. This weekend was awesome we started off at hole brothers, then headed to Taylorville, Moshier, and Eagle. The put in slide for Moshier was run by 4 people, including myself, and Kevin ran the whole thing from the top. I am pretty sure that is the first time it has been run clean all the way.
Club Venture was a great vehicle that has taken us to many destinations across the US and Canada. She will be missed by all.

The great Club Venture has been replaced by Club Express, bigger, better, holds more kayaks, and more importantly it has a 1 ton frame.

Glen travels in style with the limited edition FJ Cruiser.

DCD Kayaking Has Gone HD!

Photobucket
Well, after about 6 days of waiting in anticipation, my Canon Vixia HV-30 arrived. I didn't think it was possible, but life is better in HD. The picture on this thing is so crisp, and so clear that sometimes it looks fake. I have only good things to say about this camera and if your are looking to move into the world of HD, do it. This blog is done with mediocrity and has moved on to a new realm, to High Definition.

I made this video pretty quick with a bunch of random shots of kids and stuff at the lock. Youtube HD looks great.
Can't wait to shoot some real kayaking.

I Like Waterfalls

Here is a quick video of some of the waterfalls that I have run in the past year or so. Shot in New York and Washington, two of my favorite places to be. There will be plenty more waterfalls to come... See you on the water.

Black Fest 2009

Black Fest was a blast. People came from all over the east coast and Canada to witness such a spectacular river. The Black has a great atmosphere, great people, and great boating. Uncle Jim, Mike The Flair, and myself, completed a run on Saturday that goes down in Black river history complete with swims, carnage (not us) and Jim trying to be helpful. He succeeded in slipping and falling while chasing a boat, which resulted in 5 stitches. He had a tetnis shot about 3 weeks prior to this incident, so he had that going for him. He still had the heart to race and placed 8th. Mikey secured a solid 6th place after a very fair start. I had the lead for a moment, and lost it, and then took second.
As always the Black Fest party was a success.

Rainbow Falls

We were planning on hitting the Grasse in July, but instead we were lucky enough to get on Section III of the Oswegatchie! Mike and I fired up the big one. Nothing like stouts in 80 degree weather.
