Black Fest was a blast. People came from all over the east coast and Canada to witness such a spectacular river. The Black has a great atmosphere, great people, and great boating. Uncle Jim, Mike The Flair, and myself, completed a run on Saturday that goes down in Black river history complete with swims, carnage (not us) and Jim trying to be helpful. He succeeded in slipping and falling while chasing a boat, which resulted in 5 stitches. He had a tetnis shot about 3 weeks prior to this incident, so he had that going for him. He still had the heart to race and placed 8th. Mikey secured a solid 6th place after a very fair start. I had the lead for a moment, and lost it, and then took second. As always the Black Fest party was a success.
We were planning on hitting the Grasse in July, but instead we were lucky enough to get on Section III of the Oswegatchie! Mike and I fired up the big one. Nothing like stouts in 80 degree weather.
Kayaking has pretty much taken over my life since I was 9 years old. Here I will share pictures, videos, and stories about the different rivers and cultures that I experience as I travel.
